Poached Pears
Ingredients
4 pears, peeled and cored
4 cups of water
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of white wine
1 vanilla bean
1 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice
Methods/steps
- In a small saucepan, combine the wine, water, vanilla bean and lemon juice. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add the peeled and cored pears to the poaching liquid and poach for 8 minutes.
- Remove the pears and continue to reduce sauce by one-half to one-third.
- Place pears on the place and pour sauce aroud each on. Add a mint sprig for garnish
