Pennsylvania Dutch Shoo-Fly Pie
Description
This recipe has been handed down through three generations.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 pound margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 cup warm water
Methods/steps
- Crumb together flour, sugar and margarine. Reserve one scant cup for top of cake.
- Mix molasses, soda and water and stir into dry ingredients.
- Pour mixture into generously greased, brownie size (metal preferably) pan.
- Sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until tester comes out clean
