Homemade Cracker Jack
Description
Make this homemade version of a childhood favorite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sorghum molasses
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon soda
- 5 quarts of popped corn
- 1 cup peanuts
Methods/steps
- Mix sugar, molasses, but, water and vinegar together. Cook until 265 degrees. Stir frequently so it does not scorch.
- Remove from heat and add soda. Stir lightly. While it still foams pour over popcorn and peanuts.
- Pour onto flat buttered pan. When cook break up into pieces.
