Carolina Low Country Boil; AKA Frogmore Stew
Potatoes, Sausage, Corn, and Shrimp boiled in a single pot. A simple way to feed a large crowd. Perfect for Beach Parties.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Old Bay Seasoning
- 1 Tsp Cayanne Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Crushed Red Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 4 Lbs quartered New Red Potatoes
- 1 Lb Andouille Sausage sliced to 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 Lb Braunschweiger Sausage sliced to 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 Lb Chorizo Sausage sliced to 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 Lb Hot Italian Sausage sliced to 1/2 inch pieces
- 10 Ears of quartered Fresh Corn
- 6 lbs 12 count unpeeled Shrimp
- 40 Cups of Water
Methods/steps
- Bring Water and Spices to boil in a 20 Quart Stockpot.
- Add Potatoes and cook for 15 Minutes.
- Add Sausage and cook for 5 Minutes more.
- Add Corn and cook for 5 Minutes more.
- Add Shrimp and cook until they turn Pink - about 5 Minutes.
- Drain or dip out the solid ingredients and serve steaming hot.
Additional Tips
Crab Cakes and Steamed Clams will complete an authentic shore dinner.
